- Employment contract or proof of income (last 3 payslips)
- Mietschuldenfreiheitsbescheinigung — confirmation no rent debt at previous place
- Selbstauskunft — tenant self-disclosure form (income, pets, smoking)
- Certificate of enrollment — for students

Students: enrollment certificate, blocked account or scholarship letter, sometimes a parental guarantee.
Freelancers: last tax assessment (Steuerbescheid), client contracts, bank statements. Freelancer visa holders should show Finanzamt registration if available.
